PRIDE Core: Module 11: Understanding and Promoting Child Development (3 hours)
Module 11 focuses on ways foster parents can meet the developmental needs of infants and children who have experienced trauma, loss, and separation. Citing the explosion in research regarding brain development, Module 11 shares critical information regarding how children best grow, learn, and develop in the aftermath of trauma. This two-session module reviews significant research findings and the implications of these findings, and helps foster parents identify concrete ways to promote attachment and growth in children with a history of trauma.
